New Mexico to Receive New 575 Area Code
The New Mexico Public Regulation Commission (PRC) has ruled on the new area code(s) boundaries. The Commission voted to have a roughly five county area to retain the 505 area code, and the remaining counties in southern and eastern portions of the state will get the new 575 area code.
All areas served by Yucca Telecom are located in the new 575 area code. Please refer to the map for the new boundaries for 505 and 575 area codes. These new boundaries will take effect in 2009.

A - New Mexico is running out of numbers. No, calls that were local before the new area code will remain local calls. Local calling areas don’t change when a new area code is established. A - Individual customers are responsible for any changes to listings appearing in other directories. Each customer is responsible for phone numbers appearing in any display advertising. All directories, as they are published, will be updated to reflect the new area code.
